Abstract:
Interview on beads with Miguel Sabina, a Cuban Santeria priest and a self-taught ishona. He started stringing in 1980, in New York and moved to Miami in the 90s. He reflects on his creative process, material choices, and the cultural significance of beadwork within the Afro-Cuban Orisha tradition. The discussion also touches on themes of migration, craftsmanship, and the role of art in spiritual practice. ( en )
