Notes

Scope and Content:
Located on Santa Maria Street, one of the unique qualities of the Florida Pioneer Village is that the street bisects the Riviera Country Club golf course, with Bird and Blue Roads terminating at the north and south, respectively. Consequently, the homes can be admired from both the streetscape and the landscape of the golf course. Often referred to as the Colonial Village, the five historic structures were built between 1925-1926 and are reminiscent of Southern Colonial and Greek Revival architectural styles. The homes, designed by architects John and Coulton Skinner and John E. Pierson, are freestanding with double-story porticos, wide verandas, and pillars.
