|a On reverse, Bird's eye view from Lighthouse showing the harbor. The city of Key West was incorporated and laid out in 1829. Most of the buildings are square or rectangular structures with larges piazzaz and the streets are wide and clean. It has one of the finest harbors, its southern shore being washed by the waters of teh Gulf, and the northern shore by the Bay. The U. S. Governement has made Key West and important naval station.
