General Note:
The main objective of creating this summary profile of elders aged 60 years and over in Dade County, using 1990 United States Census data, was to have a base from which to compare the results of a telephone survey of 1,800 elders residing in Dade County in 1994. The telephone survey of elders is part of the larger project to assess the needs and concerns of elders in Dade County and to determine the impact of Hurricane Andrew on older persons.
